"It is with absolute joy I share the news that my quilt
"Into The Westward Sun"just won first place in the merit quilting category
at the big show. Houston!.......Congratulations to all my fellow
winners and to each and every person in the quilt world
who dares put their own work out there for the public.
It takes nerve, as it is yourself on display as
much as it is a quilt."
quilts continue to win awards -
What a great tribute to Bethanne, her artistry and quilting!
"I am so pleased that my newest quilt,
Song of Summer
ribboned first place at its very first show, MQX tonight!
This is the first time I’m showing images of this quilt.
It features koi, a lotus pond, and several curious summer
creatures on a hand dye saffron Radiance fabric.
My newest beading technique, gradation beaded scallops
with split faced binding finished with seed beads.
The binding alone took about 35 hours per side
with all the components....."

"This yarn couching project was a little bit
luck and a LOT of fun. It began with a
fantastic hand dyed fabric from my friend
Debbie Heeps in Allentown Pa.
The colors suggested a marsh to me
…and Blue Heron landed.
I used heavy background quilting from
my A to Zen book and then the yarn
couching with a broad mix of
commercial and artisan yarns."
